MEET MICHELLE
To say I’m an animal lover is an understatement. For over a decade, I’ve lovingly cared for cats, dogs, pigs, chickens, cows, goats, and turkeys. My background includes business administration, non-profit management, animal rescue, animal care, and animal advocacy. Over my career, I’ve developed keen observation skills, behavioral understanding, and medical skills. I’m experienced and comfortable with physical exercise, mental enrichment, medication administration, sublingual fluid administration, injections, and fear-free relationship building.
As an adult, I’ve adopted (they adopted me in several cases) seven cats and six dogs over the years. I lovingly and diligently cared for my cat with diabetes, two cats with renal failure, a super senior dog, a dog with lymphoma, and a couple of fearful dogs that required much patience!
My approach is positive, calm, respectful, and led by each individual's preference. My priority is to build long-term relationships with you and your companions built on trust, care, and safety.
Some fun tidbits: Originally from Louisville, KY (you'll notice my accent) my family and I moved to Michigan in 2022. I hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Communication from Indiana University. My husband and I co-founded a non-profit farmed animal sanctuary and cared for 55+ animals. I currently volunteer, foster, and have adopted a sweet boy through Rebel Dogs Detroit. I keep up with the antics of Jackie and Shadow (two bald eagles living in Big Bear Valley) via live cam. Lastly, I've been to more than 50 Dave Matthews Band shows.

Michelle is the dream pet sitter! I feel so lucky to have her in our lives. She was recommended by my previous pet sitter who recently moved. During a difficult time for my family, I had to be away frequently to care for my mom, and Michelle took care of my two cats and dog. She sent me photos and updates which I appreciated so much. My dog is blind, one cat has chronic diarrhea, and the other cat is a little scary. Michelle went way above and beyond to care for them and keep me apprised of anything going on (like a diarrhea cat having a blowout (ugh). She made me feel comforted and my animals were cared for and loved. All the stars
